Better start packing...

I took the UK Citizenship test and failed. Got a pathetically unpatriotic 54%. The pass mark is 75%. Next stop deportation.

How about you?

Huh - I got 58%!!And failed. So joining you on the slipway - fingers crossed for deportation to Australia!

54% too. What a stupid test. You could pass if you had learnt some of those facts I suppose... but 24 questions to get you in, hardly representative is it? How does it compare with the US one?

54% here too, which makes me think their pass mark is too high. Surely immigrants should only have to achieve a level of knowledge commensurate with that of most UK citizens? Seems unfair that they have to learn a whole load of gubbins that they will demonstrably never need.

58%. For what it's worth, I think it's sweet that there's a not very hard hurdle to jump over, and which means that everyone becoming a citizen knows more than I do. I didn't need to know the answers to all of those questions, obviously enough, but I wish I did know the answer to all of them, and I am embarrassed at my showing. Also, by the way, assuming the tests are run by pop psychologists, is there a massive body of literature saying that if you get something without paying or trying, you don't think it's valuable? I could literally be making this massive body of literature up.

It seems every year that a random sampling of Canadian citizens are asked to take the Canadian citizenship test and, naturally, do appallingly. I just took a 5-question sample test and got 100%, but the questions were pretty self-evident, at least I thought so. I tried the British one and got 41%, but how exactly does knowing the year in which British women were able to divorce their husbands make one a better citizen?

14, which I think is 56% - failure. Compared to the US citizenship test, ours is rubbish. It goes into US history, parts of the constitution, the Bill of Rights, etc, so they you have a knowledge of the country and its (supposedly) shared culture.

Typical British cock-up basically, which I suppose makes it a true citizenship exam for this country, I guess.

I scored 67%.... So close to passing yet still too far. My brain hurt just answering those question (actually, I should say guessing at those questions).

58%. FAIL.

They were rubbish qus, a lot of them were really ambiguous or had more than one potential correct answer... for instance, libraries and councils and LearnDirect are surely all potential sources of info re education... it just depends on the library or council. And as for the qus which require you to know such esoterica as the exact percentage (3.4% vs 4.2%, ffs!) of self-defined Muslims in Britain or the exact number of young people... pah. Why should anyone need to know stuff like that? What rot.

63% and then only because I've lived in Europe which helped with those particular questions.

Let me know which slave galley they deport you on. At least, it'll make for good company!

"I'm blaming my French mother"

For doing well, or for doing badly? You seem to have done better than the rest of us.

54%. Is there a pattern emerging here? I'm pretty sure I did better on the European questions than some of that "essential" knowledge about the UK. Couldn't agree more about the total irrelevance of knowing when women gained the right to file for divorce or the percentage of young people. Slightly ashamed that I haven't a clue as to how many parliamentary constituencies there are. Where are the cultural questions - artists, playwrights, landmarks, books, etc? What on earth does this test aim to show?

54% here too.

I found a website which is a better source to provide better services about the green Card process in U.S. It helps the people to get green card in easy and short time.
