Blouch

Have put my back out. Physio has banned me from sitting at my desk. So no blog for the rest of the week. See you back here on Monday.

Ouch. Ouch. And double ouch. Super sympathy from fellow back sufferer. Though mine easing slightly. Persephone's RICE thing worked for me, and pilates is helping. But apparently my back is very unstable (gee thanks) and it may take months of pilates to stabilise.

Sympathy from me, too. Not a sufferer myself, but have dealt with those who are.

Now young lady, it's very nice of you to comment on my blog, but that means you're sitting at your desk, doesn't it? Off to rest-ice-compress-exercise, right now!

Oh, and re. having the same birthdays. Check near the bottom of the comments for that particular post. (How soon they forget...)

Laptop in bed. I'm using it to watch DVDs but can't resist a little bit of blog surfing...

Did you do your back in playing football?

get well soon. It is the right thing to be in bed with the Laptop? Shouldn`t you be out exercising? I will leave to perform some music now....

OW. Ow ow ow. Also following up with the RICE thing; not from any personal belief in it but because it's always what gets shouted at me by my fitness obsessed friend whenever I damage myself. (I always thought the 'E' stood for elevation; mind you, it's surely impossible to elevate one's back? Interesting mental images though.)

Protect your back dear Marie. And also, exactly WHAT put your back out?

;)

Hi Bagelmouse! "E" does stand for elevation; I substitute "exercise" when it's the back, for the reason you noted and because it's important to strike a balance between resting and keeping moving. My mum and my sister are physiotherapists, and while it hurts my pride to admit it, the RICE formula is quite effective and really cuts down on my recovery time.

Dear Marie, I hope you feel better soon. Missing your blog...it's a bright spot for me in a dreary, icy, cold (NJ, USA) winter.

(Persephone - thank god; I know I usually block out a lot of my fitness obsessed friend's commandments, but I was getting worried that I'd misremembered that one, despite the number of times I'd heard it. Senior moment postponed...)
