The Boy

The short posts at the moment are because I'm working away from my computer, in the library, where I am currently reading Germaine Greer's The Boy. It's a scholarly art historical work about the representation of pubescent and post-pubescent males throughout history, with particular concern to how this reflects changing notions of gender and sexuality. In practise, what this actually means is that I am sitting in a public library looking at huge glossy reproductions of young men with their cocks out. I am getting some interesting looks.

Gives a whole new meaning to the lyrics:
"Let's hear it for the boy,
Let's give the boy a hand!"

Business or pleasure?
Wait a minute; you said you were working.
Hmmmmn. About a month ago, you reported having a dream about interviewing David Tennant which, you said, left you with "a pretty good idea for a novel".
Now, you're studying male genetalia in a library.
Just how worried should I be?

Tee hee, sounds like the time I had to do reading for uni on the train, with a book titled 'Demon Lovers: Witchcraft, Sex and the Crisis of Belief' with a painting of a naked woman complete with demon on the cover, I got some "interesting" looks then too.
